About This Project

This homeowner wanted the yard to reflect the meandering and unstructured feeling of the natural landscape that surrounds the house while respecting the traditional style of their home. The designer chose to use pavers with an earthy cobblestone feel to create curvilinear pathways and patio areas.

At the far end of the yard a natural cascading pond transitions the back boundary of the lot into the surrounding natural environment and provides a lovely backdrop view for the barbecue and seating area.

On the other side of the yard adjacent to the back side of the house a dramatic stone fireplace provides a warm and inviting place to sit and watch the darkening skies while sipping something warm and comforting. The path and accent lighting enhance the drama of this warm and welcoming back yard.
